To ensure the safety and proper functioning of your lifting and hoisting systems, it is important to know the condition of your installation in order to minimise unexpected downtime on site.
A tailor-made maintenance contract
After taking an inventory of your lifting and hoisting systems and calculating the SWP, we will propose a “tailor-made” preventive maintenance contract designed specifically to improve the safety and productivity of your equipment.
In doing so, our team of experienced technicians takes into account various parameters such as the intensity of use of your cranes, the operating environment or the manufacturer’s recommendations.
The implementation of a preventive maintenance schedule reduces the risk of accidents and allows you to know the condition of your installations on a regular basis in order to take appropriate corrective action if necessary. As a result, you not only optimise safety, but also save time, productivity and money. In addition, preventive maintenance also means that you comply with legal requirements and can extend the warranty period of your lifting and hoisting systems.
In addition to preventive maintenance, Ohis Industrie can also fit safety bars (bluespots) on existing/new monorails, overhead cranes and slewing cranes.
The legal requirements
The Labour Inspectorate states in its standard safety regulations that inspections and maintenance must be carried out according to the instructions of the manufacturer of the lifting and hoisting systems and that in the form of a maintenance contract with a qualified company such as Ohis Industrie.
The manufacturer must therefore include a maintenance plan in the manual of the installation(s), specifying how often an inspection or maintenance should be carried out and what items should be checked in the process. Usually, this means at least one maintenance per year, but this can be more depending on intensity of use of your cranes and the operating environment.
Each preventive maintenance or intervention should be recorded in a report, which should be included in the safety register of the installation(s).
In addition to a preventive maintenance, an annual assessment of the actual use of the systems must be carried out and the theoretical remaining lifespan must be determined (calculation of the S.W.P.). Systems must also be subjected to periodic inspection. For hoisting systems, this is quarterly by a recognised body, while lifting systems must be inspected annually by a competent person.
