Description
The Polu-Box DC is a contactor-based controller for pole-changing three-phase motors – with or without brake – for carriage steering, bridge travel or similar mechanisms.
The power supply can be connected to a three-phase mains supply with a voltage range of 230 to 575 V +/-10% and a frequency of 50/60 Hz, and is adjusted to the mains supply via the connecting lead on terminal block -X10. Four different rated voltages can be set here.
Control is by means of Tri-State signals with 24 V AC. This allows two directions of motor rotation and two speed levels to be set.
If the chain hoist is controlled using PWM signals for continuous speed variation, the Polu-Box DC uses a built-in switching threshold to switch between the two speed stages of the pole-changing motor for bridge travel.
